Length of the Exchange

Place Allocation Procedure

Once the deadline for submitting applications has concluded, the International Relations Office (SRI) of the University of the Balearic Islands will review the applications, and it will open a 5 working day period for amendments.

After the amendment period, the applications that meet the requirements will be sent to the mobility programme tutors at the UIB and the relevant partner university so that they can make their final selection, in compliance with the principles of equality, merit, and ability, with special regard to the students' academic transcripts, the language accreditation required by the host university, the proposal of subjects to be taken or the learning agreement agreed upon with the host university, the accreditation of the applicants' social or economic vulnerability and/or exclusion situation, and, finally, whether they have participated in any other exchange funded by the ERASMUS+ programme.

The provisional decision will be communicated to each student by email, and published on the Internet.

Procedure for Accepting/Declining a Place or Submitting an Appeal

Students must accept/decline their place or appeal against the resolution by e-mail within 5 working days of the publication of the provisional allocation list. Students who decline a place must state their reason/s for doing so. Where applicable, this will be followed by a 3 working day period for students on the waiting list to accept any vacant places. Once this second period is over, the final allocation list will be published on the Internet.

The starting date for the exchange will be agreed upon by the home university, the host university and the student, in accordance with the academic calendars and availability criteria at the host university. In any event, the mobility exchange must be finished by 30th June 2023.
