Visiting Students (Undergraduate Degree Studies)
What is it?
If you are a student who wants to come to the UIB, but there is no exchange agreement for your studies between your university and the UIB, you still have the chance to come as a visiting student.
Send an e-mail to the International Relations Office including the following information: name and surname/s, e-mail address, university of origin, exchange period and field of study.
General Information
Language Requirements
Catalan and/or Spanish
The Balearic Islands have two co-official languages: Catalan and Spanish. Both are generally used in all areas of public and private life. Spanish is one of the most widely-spoken languages in the world and, like Catalan, is a Romance language. This means that those who already speak Spanish should have no difficulty when it comes to learning Catalan. Both languages are widely spoken at the UIB.
In turn, other languages can also be commonly heard and used at the UIB, especially when it comes to research stays, placements or Master’s theses.
With a view to helping students adapt to both languages, the UIB runs Catalan and Spanish courses for students on mobility programmes.
