Erasmus+ BIP Programme (Blended Intensive Programme)

The Erasmus+ BIP Programme is an initiative on the Erasmus+ Programme combining an online component with a short in-person stay at different European universities. The intensive format enables participants to design joint projects involving students and lecturers from different countries, thus promoting innovative teaching and internationalisation in education.

All about BIPs

A Blended Intensive Programme comprises two elements:

  • An online section running before the in-person mobility stay, involving teamwork and activities
  • A short in-person stay (usually lasting from five to 30 days) at a host university in Europe, involving practical seminars, workshops and projects.

Why it is worth taking part

BIPs offer participating lecturers the chance to:

  • Internationalise their teaching by collaborating with universities across Europe to enhance their teaching through an international outlook
  • Promote teaching innovation by developing active methodologies and interdisciplinary projects alongside students from different countries
  • Access Erasmus+ funding to cover travel, accommodation, and per diems
  • Expand their professional networks by building bridges with lecturers from different institutions and joining academic communities in Europe.

How to get involved

Interested lecturers may submit proposals or sign up for existing BIPs at the UIB International Relations Office (SRI). Proposals will be assessed for feasibility, teaching quality and international impact.
